SHORT FILM - Ainulindalë
Ainulindalë is a fan film based off of the novel by J. R. R. Tolkien, The Silmarillion, produced by director Beverly Thompson of Willow Productions. Her team was looking for music that would capture the spirit of composer Howard Shore, who's music for the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies has become world renowned. I took time to study Shore's compositional style in depth, reviewing both literary resources as well as his most popular films, anticipating the best way to weave my style with his.
I soon began work on Ainulindalë, carefully crafting the themes as to highlight the joyous creation, the inevitable betrayal, the cosmic war and the lasting hope for future good. Enjoy.
SHORT FILM - Game of Obscurity
Game of Obscurity is a short student film by director Spencer Wilson of Northwind Studios, about a struggling young man who plays tabletop fantasy rpgs. He wishes to publish his own gaming module but is rediculed by others. Then one day he meets a stranger who gives him a magically imbued 20-sided gaming die, and his world is altered forever!
Working with my team from Far West Method Music, we wanted to capture the growing intensity and ultimate transition between fantasy and reality.
